OUR STORY
Cheryl Lynch, Owner of Belflora Designs, has been expressing herself through floral design for over 20
years. What started out as a “side business” while working in the pharmaceutical industry, Cheryl decided to
take her floral passion full-time and created Belflora Designs - - combining both her love of garden and floral design.
“The name “BELFLORA” is in honor of both of my grandmothers who provided the inspiration for my
business. My maternal grandmother whose maiden name was “Bellis” (Bel) was a true entrepreneur.
Throughout her life, she owned several businesses and inspired me to do the same.
I have fond memories of “playing store” at her dress shop and helping her display her merchandise.
“My paternal grandmother, “Nana,” whose name was Flora, was the most creative person I’ve ever met.
She was a talented artist who loved gardening and “crafting” with me and my sister.
There is no doubt that she instilled in me "a love for all things creative.”
The name, Flora can be traced back to ancient Roman mythology,
where Flora was considered the “Goddess of Flowers & the Season of Spring."
The Goddess Flora brought beauty, fertility and new life to the world,
symbolizing the blooming of flowers and the renewal of nature after the harsh winter months.
I love this and believe there’s 'a little of all of them’ fueling my passion."
